No, you can't go with brushes at DA. Those are stupid people picking wrong
categories ;
The thing you said about vexels.net is also wrong, because people there use cell
shading with no multiple layers, too. If you had joined vexels.net when it was
opened (which I did) you would know that there are NO vectors in the MT gallery,
all of them are vexels. Vexels.net's aim was to destroy the usage of the vector
term in the raster world (rhyme was not intended!).
In a few words: your definition of a vexel is extra shaky (earthquake). Vexels
(style) and vectors (medium) are only different because the later one can be
resized without quality loss, that's the only difference.
I rest my case, I won't be barging in anymore, sorry.
P.s. I sound like a term freak, don't I? And I don't even care which word I use
in my descriptions ^^;
A question: how can you make two galleries for vectors and vexels when all the
anime "vectors" uploaded on MT are vexels? Saying "I've never
made a vexel" when you have a bunch of anime traces in your gallery is
wrong. A vexel is vector art saved in jpeg, png or any other format that can't
be resized without quality loss a.k.a. vector art turned into a raster image. 123456 - all of these are
vexels. If you think that I'm an idiot then you can go to vexels.net, show Linda
an anime trace and ask if it's a vector.
Your submission entitled Beat Collection was removed from Minitokyo because it
was exactly identical to a previously posted image.
First of all, I have never uploaded a scan that was already in the gallery, at
least I don't remember doing so as I always check the whole gallery.
I didn't receive a link to the scan and I can't even remember myself uploading
something with such a title.
I must say that AP right now is better.
1. Every post/comment in AP earns you papers and MT barely gives credits for
posts/comments (I asked a friend to test that just to makes sure). So people who
can't submit artwork still can download scans from AP while in MT the DQ is the
only helping hand.
2. Wallpapers in AP are free to download (but not more than 20 walls a day)
while in MT you have to pay credits to see artwork. So people in AP are free to
comment after a full view when in MT they have to choose between a nice scan
with their fav chara or a wallpaper from a newbie and feedback to help him.
3. AP encourages long comments on wallpapers (longer = more papers). Long
comment = good feedback, spam a long comment = ban. I myself noticed that a long
comment is worth more than a long post in the forum. Now MT as I said before has
no encouragements there, only a discouragement because those comments still
won't earn many credits.
4. Wallpapers in AP have to be unproved while in MT they will be deleted after submission.
5. After vol4 release the scans have gotten much cheaper in AP and they give
more papers for a post.
6. You can actually SEE what you have earned in AP unlike here. The papers are
also public, like it's a thing to hide =/
7. AP's layout is easier to browse and it's much neater. The userpage is also
easy to edit.

Regardless of what you say the goal was, the "percieved value" of
credits will always follow the real value of credits. If you make credits more
important people will want more credits and will be even more picky about
spending them. Artists earn far more credits then someone who simply posts
comments in the gallery or forum, I suppose from the artist standpoint there is
nothing wrong with MT even if you removed the FDQ completely and doubled the
price of everythig... as long as said artist never wants to share their
work.
People talk about the motives of the admins and mods and I understand what they
mean. I don't think of the admins or mods as my enemies, but I know from their
actions they are not my friends. I do not get the impression of any personal
grudges coming from the staff, they act professional and fairly when working
with the users. But the apparent motivations of the policies they have been
implimenting have changed recently. The original introduction of the credit
system seemed mostly motivated to slow down the out of control bandwidth
consumption. And all reports I have heard since then are that it has worked,
bandwidth is kept at reasonable levels. But the policy shift lately feels like
"if you aren't an artist we hate you". The most effective methods of
earning credits are exclusive to people who submit items to the gallery, and
that changes the motivations of people submitting artwork here.
I feel that rather then sharing your work, the primary motivation for submitting
something for many artists has changed to earning more credits and that is why
the quality of gallery submissions is dropping while the quantity continues to
rise. The artists no longer care about putting out the best possible wall, they
want to submit something that will get noticed. So it is a race to slap some
ecchi scan that is sure to get attention on a bunch of filtered brushed
backgrounds and wait for the masses to swarm to your wall earning you a ton of
credits. The artwork really does seem to be taking second place to the pressure
to earn more credits. I know this is not the goal of the staff, but this is the
effect of the credit system and recent policy. On MTv2 I was around level 16 I
think, I still commented on gallery items and favorited stuff I really liked, I
was not standing still like a lot of the "hated leechers". I also
didn't feel any huge motivation to submit artwork, once in a while I would see a
wall and think it would be fun to make a wall of my own and submit it to see the
reactions of others. Now the only reason I ever feel like making something is to
earn more credits, the current system killed the artist in
me.
actually this is the truth. I was a bit surprised when I read that feedback and
posts aren't as valued as artwork. I did notice that my wallpaper earned me much
more credits then my comments. So I decided to spend my time on wallpapers when
I could be commenting and posting since it is more useful for me. So i guess the
DQ was a helping hand for posters.
there's no big deal about the DQ since I know that I have enough credits (I
forgot how many I had before this change! NOES! damn it ) and I download most of my scans from AP.
I just hope you won't have many problems.
I suppose I will repeat myself. I read that there are no problems with the
bandwidth and it was a staff member talking. You want members to be active? Now
how about thinking before saying something? People want scans so they'll go and
spam to get the credits because of the low DQ. Isn't it better to let people get
what they want and rely on real MT members? I surely don't want to see people
copy+paste a comment on ten walls. I've seen this in many anime forums where you
have to post to get media. The whole forum is spammed up, even the dullest
threads have over 200 replies and those don't even make sense.
In the end I don't think I'll very be so active on MT since it takes me two
minutes to load so the only way I can contribute something is submitting my own
works because I don't have the patience to wait for such a long time when
browsing a forum. If you think that your changes are better for the community
then discuss it with us before doing something because recent updates were going
the hill and god damn it I want to see my credits! they are freaking mine!
Yes I know, but I do not like offer my credits. ^^
Some scans cost almost 5 credits and this is much. Maybe it is true, that some
guys have only downloaded scans all the time without to pariticipate in the
community.....but can this system be changed for the members who do ? I mean,
that members who post scans and all the stuff in the forum get "Extra
quota"?
makes two of us I don't
like spending credits here and I don't like spending my papers in animepaper.net
:3

is not fair...... =(
I post nice scans, but can download only 5 scans... ! Sorry guys..but this is
the worst idea till now. I think many people will leave this side now.
I mean there are so many nice scans and only 5 for download....this must be a
bad joke....
Spend your credits, 5 isn't your download limit. But I guess people really do
feel better when downloading something for free and not spending the credits.

guide the discussion regarding the download quota and bandwidth consumption,
please know that we are not experiencing any bandwidth issues. The last word
from sheqel is that we are actually way underusing our available bandwidth. So
that should not be a concern.
and with this I will start my post
if there are no problems with the bandwidth then why are you people whining
about the leechers? the FDQ is too high, the credits don't have a point
blablabla SO? Do you want hundreds of people spamming in the forum and the
gallery to get credits so they could download the scans? Because without the
download quota it would happen. It's better to leave them alone so they could
quietly download instead of spamming.
The idea of 100 free downloads per week was great in my opinion because 30
downloads per day is a bit too much, makes 210 free downloads per week.
from 30 to 5...wow, harsh lmao well why don't you look at this the other way.
People liked the FDQ because they could dl walls without spending credits and
then comment. It doesn't really bother me but that's one big move you guys
made.
I still want to see ALL of my credits and I don't see how you will reduce the
importance of them by not showing what I have earned. Those credits are mine and
I think I have a right to see them.
I just got used to credits and now I can't see them
I want to see them. I doesn't really bother but it feels weird. I want to know

I'm waiting for NANA
well
NANA has great music, I hope to hear the song that Nana sang in the 4th episode.
In the whole OST there's only one song I like and that's Eiyuu Ou. Such a wonderful track.

Not really since most of my friends don't watch anime so I'm pretty lucky.

Hellsing. That's the only anime I loved so bad.
